International Day of the Girl – October 2024

We did it !!!

Today we announced the launch of our Sename’s school project dedicated to girls aged 3-18 in Comè (Benin) as well as a Community Center dedicated to the Youth of the area.

This year, on October 11th, the International day of the Girl, we honored the vision of girls for a brighter future.

Despite facing disproportionate impacts from climate change, poverty and setbacks in gender equality, girls continue to lead with courage and hope. We envision a world where every girl is protected, respected, and empowered.

At Sename Foundation, we are working to make this vision a reality. Girls cannot do this alone—they need allies, resources and opportunities to show them that their potential is limitless.

We had a lovely time doing a vision board’s workshop, having a theatre play and other recreational activities with the whole community.

Thank you to all who made it possible, especially the local authorities, families and communities and the dedicated members who all gave from their gracious time.

With your support, we’ll invest in a brighter future for all of them. Join us, let’s uplift more girls and families !

About us
The Sename Foundation for Education, Science, Girls, and Community Development strives for a world where every African child, in particular young girls, no matter their background, can learn, dream, and reach their full potential. Through the creation, funding, and management of educational, cultural, and social institutions, the Foundation invests in education, dignity, and autonomy for the next generation. As a true catalyst for community transformation, its work extends to social development, vocational training, and the prevention of exclusion, with the aim of unlocking the potential of young people across Africa. Convinced that the continent’s sustainable development depends on the development of its human capital, the Foundation is dedicated to preparing youth for the jobs of tomorrow, building stronger, more inclusive, and forward-looking communities.
